Planet of the Apes: Who can blame Caesar

Dawn of the planet of the apes

Dawn of the planet of the apesAs Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is released, I decided to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes before I go ahead and dive in to this exciting new blockbuster.

Caesar, the ape who kicked it all off,was brought up by a scientist from the time he was a baby and then he was screwed over by people who were cruel to animals. He was screwed before he was even born because his mother was ‘put down’ when…

How To Train Your Dragon 2 & The IMAX experience

How To Train Your Dragon, when it was released, surprised a lot of people including me when it was released. It didn’t look great but it gave me one of the best surprises after watching the first film. It was funny,a new story and thought outside the box. It’s not as goofy as ‘Shrek’ or as serious as say ‘Avatar’ but it found a good middle ground where it feels like it’s an animation to be taken…

First ‘Interstellar’ trailer for Nolan’s next film has arrived

interstellar poster

Matthew McConnaghey does his best Morgan Freeman impression as he speaks over the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s first ‘Interstellar’ trailer. By that I mean he speaks very deeply and meaningfully about our past histories and how we can’t forget that we are pioneers and we haven’t done all there is to do yet.

Not a lot of plot detail has been revealed but what we do know is that the film is to…

First image of BatBen arrives and it’s not so bad

ben affleck as batman

The first image of Ben Affleck as Batman for the 2016 ‘Batman vs. Superman’ film has been unveiled. As we expected, the internet lost its shit but the image presents a Batman that isn’t too different to the Nolan creation we’re used to. BatBen seems to be just as dark and serious and a whole lot veiny-er. It almost looks like it’s painted on to his skin. How much tighter can the Batsuits get?…

Why women’s roles in movies being played by men is so ridiculous

buzzfeed womens roles in movies played by men

BuzzFeed have created a great video showing men in the positions women usually play in films. Generally women are used in movies as props, objects, for sex and mostly to ‘look pretty’ or ‘to look hot’ while the male is taken more seriously, more masculine, powerful and made not to look so fucking stupid.

buzzfeed womens roles in movies played by menIn the video, when the roles are flipped, it’s hilarious to see male actors act the exact same way…

First trailer for ‘Gotham’ TV series

gotham tv series

This autumn ‘Gotham’ premiers on Fox and it looks promising. I never know what to think when I hear a sequel is coming and I’m even more sketchy about TV series. When I heard about ‘Gotham’ I didn’t feel great about it but this trailer has eased my fears.

Batman,Poison Ivy,Catwoman,Penguin,Riddler and Commisioner Gordon (Ben McKenzie) can be seen in the trailer but all as their youthful selves.…

First ‘Maleficent’ IMAX poster and character posters

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for May 30th and to head to Cineworld to see Angelina Jolie as ‘Maleficent’ in IMAX.
All the promotion for the film has been great so far with Lana Del Rey creepily covering ‘Once Upon A Dream’ and Jolie chilling us all to the bone with her terrifyingly beautiful but evil portrayal of ‘Maleficent’.
Indulge in these brand new images!

Missy and Penelope,Ireland’s First Lesbian Penguins: A story for Disney

lesbian-penguinsThe Disney world is crying out for it’s first big screen lesbian couple. We’re all waiting for the next princess to be gay but how about Disney get inspired by Ireland’s first lesbian penguin couple, Missy and Penelope. We’ve had Happy Feet and we’ve had Ellen voice Dory in Finding Nemo, so it seems logical for Disney’s next animation to focus on a pair of adorably different penguins.

You can’t…
